The kaupapa of Te Ara M膩tauranga Kindergarten is to follow the lead of tamariki and their interests. Kaiako work alongside tamariki, allowing them to explore and consider their own ideas and theories.
The Habits of Mind framework, in conjunction with Te Wh膩riki, supports tamariki growing dispositions as lifelong learners. Tamariki are encouraged to solve problems and develop their skills in social and emotional competence, while kaiako work alongside offering encouragement and support with strategies and role modelling expectations.
The kindergarten learning environment is purposefully arranged to allow tamariki greater opportunities for uninterrupted work and play.
Kaiako are committed to showing respect for our culture, te ao M膩ori and growing skills in this area for themselves and the learning community. There is a growing respect for environment and the kindergarten is building on previous practice working alongside wh膩nau and tamariki alike.
