At ��������ϲʿ����� Rotorua East we value relationships and social competence within a strong language rich learning environment.

Our kindergarten philosophy is that children learn through play. We foster interpersonal relationships and support and guide the children to help each other, teach each other and learn from each other. Relationships are at the heart of our practice. By respecting and valuing all that the children and their families come with, our teachers build positive and reciprocal relationships. We strive to ensure an environment that creates a sense of belonging and wellbeing so that all children can engage confidently within our programme.

Social competence is a priority here and we use strategies from the Incredible Years programme to grow and foster these important skills. Teachers are developing a growth mind-set approach in order to foster children to be competent thinkers and learners.
