At Selwyn Kindergarten all learners are supported to grow in an environment that values and encourages kindness, respect and empathy.
Selwyn Kindergarten has been operating within the community since 1962. We provide an inclusive environment that is safe, welcoming and fun, where everyone is valued, celebrated and affirmed, and has a strong sense of belonging. Manaakitanga and whanaungatanga are at the centre of everything we do. Each tamaiti has a kaitiaki (key teacher) who builds a trusting relationship from the outset, and ensures their emotional and physical needs are met.
Aotearoa’s heritage is embraced through our commitment to incorporating te ao M膩ori throughout our curriculum, which is a localised curriculum supported by Ng膩ti Whakaue, our local iwi. Our large outdoor environment reflects and embraces the gifts of Papat奴膩nuku. Connections with our wider community are important to us, including local schools and the community health centre. We are well resourced, and provide nutritious meals through support of KidsCan, and free weekly nurse visits.
Poipoia te k膩kano kia puawai.
Nurture the seed and it will blossom.
Nau mai haere mai, come and visit us any time.
